Kisimul Castle dates from the mid 16th century and is the seat of the Clan MacNeil. The castle is leased to Historic Scotland by the clan cheiftain for the annual sum of one pound and a bottle of whisky! It is situated at Castlebay on the Isle of Barra in the Outer Hebrides
